Will the scientific data underlying peer-reviewed publications be shared by the time of publication, or for other findings, by the end of the period of performance, which includes no-cost extensions?
A response of "Yes" is expected, unless there are mitigating factors that might push the date of data sharing farther out than the deadlines listed above. These can include student involvement in a research project, or an institution's requirements for certain data files to remain under institutional control for set periods due to patents, licensing, data use agreements, etc. Check with your office of research and/or office of sponsored projects; patent, IP, or inventions office; or legal office if you have questions about the start date for data sharing.
